الطلح النجدي من الأشجار المتباينة لها سيقان ذات أشواك ولحاء ذو شقوق داكن اللون، والثمار القرنية مستقيمة ومتطاولة وقمتها منحنية، وتتوزع أشجارها في شمال منطقة الجزيرة العربية حيث تنمو في المنخفضات والأودية ومجاري المياه.
أشجارها لها قمة مستوية وساق مفردة متجعدة وحمراء اللون، والافرع الحديثة مغطاة بشعريات كثيفة رمادية اللون ولها العديد من الأشواك في أزواج بيضاء اللون والجذع الأساسي في الأشجار البالغة لا يوجد بها أشواك.
